Eligibility Criteria and Admission Requirements:

 

High School Average/Stream

Advanced Track : A minimum high school average of 60%.

Elite Track : A minimum high school average of 60%.

General Track : A minimum high school average of 60%.

Or equivalent average in standardized international curriculums.

 

 

Proficiency Requirements

 

1- English Requirement

One of the following English Proficiency Requirement:

  • EmSAT score of 1100 for the English Language.
  • IELTS Academic score of 5.0.
  • Paper-Based TOEFL score of 500.
  • Internet-Based TOEFL score of 61.

2- Math Requirement

One of the following Proficiency Requirements:

  • Pass a university-administered test with a score of 80% in mathematics.
  • Achieve 80% or above in mathematics in the Grade 12 high school certificate.
  • Submit an EmSAT score of 600 in mathematics or equivalent.

Conditional Admission Requirements

Applicants who passed High School with an average score of less than 60% may be granted conditional admission to the program. The student has two options to meet the requirements for full admission:

Conditional Admission 1:

The student must enroll in three non-credit remedial courses:

  1. Arabic Language
  2. Mathematics
  3. English Language

To obtain full admission status, the student must achieve a minimum grade of B in all three courses.

Conditional Admission 2:

To submit EmSAT scores of 1100 in English, 800 in Arabic, and 600 in Mathematics. The student in the remedial conditional track will have one semester to successfully meet these requirements in order to continue in the program.

Students who meet the high school score but do not achieve the minimum English proficiency scores will be conditionally admitted to the program. While under conditional admission status, each student must study in the Intensive English Program (IEP) and may only register for one or two of the following General Education courses:

1-Computer Fundamentals.

2-Islamic Studies.

3-UAE Culture.

4-College Mathematics.

 

Students will be allowed two semesters to achieve the required English proficiency scores in order to continue in the program.

Required Documents

  • Official UAE secondary school certificate (or its equivalent) attested by the MOE-UAE.
  • For the Non-UAE high school curriculums, an attested official transcript along with the equivalency letter from the MOE-UAE must be provided.
  • An official valid certificate of the English & Math proficiency scores (Certificates of TOEFL or IELTS are valid for only two years, and EmSAT is valid for 18 months).
  • Copy of a valid passport.
  • Copy of UAE Identity card.
  • Copy of a valid UAE residence visa.
  • Copy of family book for UAE nationals.
  • National Service Completion certificate (for UAE Nationals).
  • Four recent white background passport-size photographs.
  • Interview Form.

NOTE: All documents presented by the applicant for admission purposes become the property of CUA and will not be returned.
